Nonlinear Entropy Production in a Reversible Oregonator Model

چکیده
The entropy production in a non-equilibrium state based on the reversible Oregonator model of the BelousovZhabotinskii (BZ) reaction system has been studied. The reaction affinity and the reaction rate for the individual steps have been calculated by varying the concentrations of key variables in the system. The result shows a linear relationship between the reaction affinity and the reaction rate in the given concentration range. However, the overall entropy calculated on the basic assumption that the entropy in a reaction system corresponds to the summation of a product of reaction affinity and reaction rate of individual steps shows a nonlinearity of the reaction system. The results well agrees with the fact that the entropy production is not linear or complicated function in a non-linear reaction system.

Statistical Thermodynamics of General Minimal Diffusion Processes: Constuction, Invariant Density, Reversibility and Entropy Production
The solution to nonlinear Fokker-Planck equation is constructed in terms of the minimal Markov semigroup generated by the equation. The semigroup is obtained by a purely functional analytical method via Hille-Yosida theorem. The existence of the positive invariant measure with density is established and a weak form of Foguel alternative proven. We show the equivalence among self-adjoint of the ...
متن کاملEntropy Production in Nonlinear Recombination Models
We study the convergence to equilibrium of a class of nonlinear recombination models. In analogy with Boltzmann’s H theorem from kinetic theory, and in contrast with previous analysis of these models, convergence is measured in terms of relative entropy. The problem is formulated within a general framework that we refer to as Reversible Quadratic Systems. Our main result is a tight quantitative...
متن کاملLyapunov functionals for boundary-driven nonlinear drift–diffusion equations
We exhibit a large class of Lyapunov functionals for nonlinear drift–diffusion equations with non-homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. These are generalizations of large deviation functionals for underlying stochastic manyparticle systems, the zero-range process and the Ginzburg–Landau dynamics, which we describe briefly. We prove, as an application, linear inequalities between such an en...
متن کاملDifferential delay equations in chemical kinetics. Nonlinear models: The cross-shaped phase diagram and the Oregonator
Delayed feedback plays a key role in most, if not all chemical oscillators. We derive general results useful in the linear stability analysis of models that explicitly incorporate delay by using differential delay equations. Two models of nonlinear chemical oscillators, the cross-shaped phase diagram model of Boissonade and De Kepper and the Oregonator, are modified by deleting a feedback speci...
متن کاملFluctuation theorem for hidden entropy production.
Elimination of seemingly unnecessary variables in Markovian models may cause a difference in the value of irreversible entropy production between the original and reduced dynamics. We show that such difference, which we call the hidden entropy production, obeys an integral fluctuation theorem if all variables are time-reversal invariant, or if the density function is symmetric with respect to t...
